The Full Form of GNM course is General Nursing and Midwifery. It is a 3 years diploma in Nursing. Nursing and Midwifery focuses on the provision of care to individuals, families, and communities.
The course can be pursued after successful completion of the 10+2 level of education in the science stream from a recognized educational board with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. Some institutes even require science subjects.

GNM: Eligibility
Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission to GNM:
- 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.

GNM: Admission Process
Most institutes offering the course admit students based on performance in a relevant entrance test. GNM Admission Process generally varies across colleges.
